How many Brits are retirees ? Who will die pretty soon🙂 I'm 79 so I'm in that category. This will slowly bring down the Brit numbers in Spain. Of course not good news if you own a fish and chip shop !

When the Brexit vote was announced we had been living in Italy for 13 years, and had permesso di soggiorno on the 5 year basis of being EU citizens, before the Withdrawal Agreement both my wife and I considered application for Irish citizenship (as we both have Irish grandparents). However we were able get permesso di soggiorno permanente (after a few visits to the local questura), which has worked out well for us financially as both my wife and I have occupational and state pensions which are covered by the dual taxation accord which means our income tax is levied in the UK, and all i have to do is send a copy of our P60's to the Agenzia di Entrate every April to demonstrate we have paid tax in the UK
